Dedicated to the Lewis County High School Class of 2018
Praise God for my new job.
The job that I was once uncertain about.
The job that would take me out of my comfort zone,
And lead me into uncharted territory.
Praise to the faculty of my new school,
My new home,
Praise to them for welcoming me in with open arms
For making me feel like a part of something wonderful
For making me feel important.
Praise to the parents,
For being the kind of parents that I hope to be to my own kids one day,
For teaching their children morals and values,
And for putting their trust in me
That I will provide for their children
Not only a quality education
But an example of responsible citizenship.
But mostly,
Praise to the children,
Who at thirteen
Are more adult than I was at their age.
Who make me smile
Not daily
But every minute of every day,
Who make teaching an absolute pleasure
And who inspire me to get up and come to work every day
Not with hesitation, reservation, or complaint,
But with honor, and joy, and extreme satisfaction.
Praise to the children
Who do what I ask of them
Who don't question my judgment
Who take on every challenge that I throw their way.
Who inspire me to be the best teacher that I can be
Because that's what they deserve.
Praise God for my new job.
The job that I was once uncertain about.
The job that would take me out of my comfort zone,
And lead me into uncharted territory.
